Baltic Sea

Baltic Sea

Area information

For us Germans, the Baltic Sea is something like our “home sea”. Formed during the last ice age, today it is often derisively referred to as a “flooded meadow”. This has to do in particular with the often shallow water depths. For the POLARIS, with its variable draught, this is of course no problem and so even areas that are otherwise difficult to access are no problem for us. Incidentally, the Baltic Sea also offers plenty of variety and beautiful scenery. You can easily spend weeks or months around the German and Danish coasts alone without ever feeling repetitive or even bored. Further north, the legendary Skagerrak, the narrow connection between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, awaits. Even further north we find the Gulf of Bothnia, which takes us far into the Finnish north near the Arctic Circle. Even today, the Baltic Sea freezes over here in winter. The POLARUS, with its reinforced aluminum hull, can also cope well with this. To the east, Sweden, the Baltic States and finally Russia complete the Baltic Sea round. In short: the Baltic Sea is not only an absolute dream area for sailors, but also offers a lot of culture and living history on land. Anyone who sails here will not regret it.

Our sailing trips with the POLARIS are active trips where the participation of the guests is expressly desired, sometimes required. Nevertheless, you do not have to be an experienced sailor to take part in our trips. Accompanied by two professional skippers, you can always feel safe and well looked after. Does this appeal to you? Then find out more about the exciting sailing areas of the Baltic Sea and take a look at our extensive range of trips.
