Axel Hachenberger

Axel is a self-employed master craftsman and has learnt to sail professionally on numerous cruises in the Mediterranean, North Sea, Baltic Sea and Atlantic since 2003. He also benefited from Bernd Reese’s excellent Yachtmaster training in the Solent, England. Since then, he has logged more than 20,000 nautical miles. He holds the German SKS and the English RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and Ocean licences. His training portfolio includes the ‘Survival at Sea’ safety training course organised by the DSV cruiser department, as well as practical training on radar and plotters, strong wind sailing and storm tactics, astronomical navigation and SRC radio training. From 2011 to 2021, he offered berth charters in Turkey and Greece with his own boat, a GibSea 52.2 Master. He is a member of the cruiser section (KA) of the German Sailing Association and of Trans Ocean e.V. for the promotion of ocean sailing.
