Yannick Kethers

Since my first trips along the Algarve coast on board a catamaran, I have been hooked on sailing ever since I was a child. During the school and semester holidays, I used my free time to complete as many sailing trips as possible on different types of yachts, including: Iceland-Norway via Faroe and Shetland Islands, round Skagen Regatta, Hamburg-London, Stavoren-Lowestoft, Lorient-Cowes, charter trips Ijsselmeer/Waddenzee, southern Baltic Sea, coastal sailing Algarve and Andalusia, Lofoten and finally Algarve-Canary Islands via Madeira. Since obtaining the SHS and subsequently the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore, I have increasingly been working as a skipper.
In addition to offshore sailing, navigation, meteorology and weather routing, I am also interested in photography and reporting in the context of sailing. During my teaching degree in English, French, I completed an internship in the editorial department of the French sailing magazine Voiles & Voiliers and started my blog with photo reports on sailing trips, regattas and boat shows. I am also currently working as a team journalist for Boris Herrmann’s Team Malizia.
